You know those days where everything just seems to be going right?
You wake up on the "right side of the bed", you feel extra productive, and nothing can bring you down.
How would you like to feel that way EVERY day?
Wouldn't it be awesome if every single day we woke up feeling energized, positive, and ready to attack anything that comes our way?
Here are 10 ways to make that possible. By doing these 10 things every single day, you will find that your days are better, you feel happier, and life just seems to be going your way.
1. WAKE UP EARLIER
In the past, I would wake up exactly when I needed to in order to quickly get ready and rush out the door. I slept in as long as I possibly could and was only awake long enough to get myself ready for the day. It has been proven that people who wake up earlier are more productive and more successful. So, I put it to the test. I began waking up earlier. Now I don't feel rushed in the morning. I have time to accomplish what I need to and it helps set the tone for the rest of my day. I actually LOOK FORWARD to the morning. I never would have said that before. But now it has become a really special time for me. Stop pushing the snooze button. Set a time and commit to waking up when that alarm goes off. You might have to go to bed a little earlier - but it will be so worth it. No more rushing around, forgetting your lunch, or having a bad hair day. You'll have time to get it all done right.
2. CREATE A MORNING ROUTINE
Creating a morning routine was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. I started using the app CONTINUO to help me accomplish different tasks every day. Since waking up earlier, I now accomplish around 6 different tasks before even leaving the house. By starting your morning off in a positive way, it sets the tone for the rest of your day making it more likely to have the best day every day.
We like to write out our morning routine in our planner to make sure it gets the attention it deserves. These are a few of our very favorite planners! We are currently using the "No Bad Days" planner and absolutely love it!
3. MAKE YOUR BED BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE
Above I mentioned the app CONTINUO. I use that app to help me accomplish different tasks throughout the day. One of the tasks I make sure to do every single morning is make my bed. This may seem like a silly thing, but it makes a world of difference. By completeing a task in the morning (no matter how small), we feel accomplished and productive. This feeling will carry on throughout the day leading us to being even more productive. Also, having your bed made will make your room feel much more clean and relaxing.
4. WRITE IN YOUR JOURNAL
Scientific studies have proven that journaling can actually improve your emotional, physical, and mental health. Journaling can help us cope with changes, difficulties, and struggles. It can improve our ability to accomplish our goals, clears our mind by creating clarity, increases gratitude, strengthens your sense of self, and helps you de-stress. By organizing your thoughts you can reduce worry and focus on the positive. By taking even five minutes every day to write in your journal you will begin to notice tons of positive outcomes.
Taking time every day to be active and move your body will increase your overall happiness. Not only does exercise provide major health benefits, it can also help you feel accomplished and proud of yourself when you do it. Taking even 5 minutes each morning to stretch or exercise will help you have the best day every day.
6. BE GRATEFUL
This one is a no brainer. When we focus on the negative, we will see the negative. When we focus on the positive, we will see the positive. Take time every day to be grateful. You can do this by keeping a gratitude journal that you write in every day. You can also take time to pray, thanking your Heavenly Father for all He has done for you. Try saying a prayer where you only give thanks. Where you do not ask for anything and all you do is express your gratitude. As you do this, you will begin to realize just how blessed you really are.
7. SET A DAILY INTENTION
Setting goals is a great thing - but setting a daily intention may get you much farther. Sometimes goals can be big, lofty, and even a little daunting. By setting a daily intention you narrow your focus to one simple thing that you would like to accomplish that day. Daily intentions give you purpose for the day. They provide practical motivation and can absolutely change your life for the better.
8. DO SOMETHING KIND FOR SOMEONE ELSE
One of the greatest ways to feel true happiness is by getting outside yourself and doing something kind for someone else. Now, this doesn't have to be huge. You don't have to even go out of your way to make this possible. Simply smile at a stranger. Let someone switch lanes in front of you. Give a genuine compliment. All of these things are simple, yet effective ways you can truly make a difference. Each day look for ways to make someone else's day better and by doing so you in turn will have the best day every day.
We live in such a busy and fast paced world. We are overly stimulated by our smart phones and computers. We have all the information we could ever need available at the press of a button. It is easy to become overwhelmed by everything going on in our lives. Each day, take a minute, and just PAUSE. Take a deep breath. Focus on the moment. Watch the sunset. Pay attention to the beautiful colors in the sky. Simply PAUSE.
10. LOOK FOR THE GOOD
Life can be hard. Not every day is perfect. Not every day is the best day. However, regardless of our circumstances - we can CHOOSE to be positive. You can choose to be positive in the midst of trial and heartache. You can choose to focus on the good. As we look for the good, we will see it. We will begin to realize just how beautiful really life is.
